A new Xbox 360 game was released today called "Toy Soldiers" it takes place in World War I using a toy box setting. Don't be alarmed I've been playing the game since this morning and so far it has been very respectful/tasteful in its depiction of the war. I think the toy look was a way for the developers to really get around a T or M rating as well as the game is pretty brutal in its depiction toy limbs falling off death animations destruction etc are all present. In other words it isn't a comedic take on soldiers like say the Army Men games are. The game's story seems to take place from the start of the war complete with cutscenes and historical commentary about events. So far it seems to be from the view of the Central Powers but it could change later on. The game is a RTS/Strategy game like Age of Empires Warcraft Command & Conquer etc. One cool thing about the game is you can take control of units so selecting the option on a Howitzer or sniper nest will give you complete control and the ability to shoot the Howitzer or sniper rifle. You can only get it from the XBLA for the Xbox 360 the price is $15 which is well worth it in my opinion. I don't know if it will be coming to other platforms but since Microsoft is the publisher the most it might come to if anything is PC. If you need a link I highly recommend the game one of the few World War I games on the market and it's a great game to boot. Last Edited: Mar 03, 2010 - 1:50 pm
